Better vision for people over 50 years old

A California eye doctor has found a system that is better than Lasik for individuals over 50. It Imparts distance and near vision in each eye. Rajesh Khanna, MD has determined that PRELEX is longer lasting, prevents the development of cataracts, and does not induce dry eye.

PRELEX restores one's vision to a more youthful age, giving you optimum vision in both eyes, preserving binocular vision and depth of field. It allows each eye to see far (for watching the ball game), middle (for computer work) and near (for reading the newspaper). This is not mono-vision (which is one eye for far and the other for near). PRELEX is an acronym for presbyopic refractive lens exchange. In this 10-15 minute sterile procedure the natural lens is vaporized using sound waves and replaced by an artificial presbyopic lens implants such as RESTOR Aspheric Multifocal and Crystalens HD. This procedure can be preformed if a patient currently has cataracts or have had previous RK, PRK, or Lasik surgery. This lens technology is FDA approved for cataract surgery. Presbyopia is the condition which occurs in the mid 40's in which the lens of the eye loses its ability to focus leading to gradually worsening vision, requiring the need for reading glasses. Dr. Khanna has been performing this procedure for the last four years. He believes in the PRELEX procedure so much so, he even operated successfully on his mother at the AAAHC certified Khanna Surgery center. This procedure is done one eye at a time and allows most people to return to work the following day.

To summarize PRELEX procedure gets rid of distance and near glasses helping to lead a more safe and independent lifestyle without the reliance on glasses, imparting a youthful appearance.

Dr. Khanna has been featured on The Beverly Hills Times and Life after 50. He has performed on athletes and celebrities alike, including Corbin Blue of high School Musical. He has been interviewed on the Poorman's show (KROQ fame) and the senior hour on KHTS 1220 AM, KCAL , and invited to host a show on SCVTV. He was also recently chosen for the reader's choice award conducted by the Ventura county star. In addition to PRELEX Dr. Khanna also performs wavefront laser technology. Dr. Khanna is available for interviews beginning on March the 16th.
